Cleaner air for our children
It was the voices of our children that guided the creation of Skyrenu. Faced with the climate emergency, they told us: "We must find a solution " And that's why we decided to take action.
This is how the company Skyrenu was born in 2021. Today, our team develops powerful, accessible and modular technologies to capture and sequester CO₂ directly from the atmosphere.
Our vision
We want to ensure a safe environment for future generations through innovative direct CO₂ capture (DAC) technologies.
Furthermore, we believe it is possible to transform the CO₂ present in the air into an opportunity for both the planet and the economy.
Our mission
We develop powerful, accessible and modular systems designed to capture CO₂ where it is found and reuse it in various sustainable applications.
Additionally, by using an environmentally friendly adsorbent and a low-energy cycle, we reduce the carbon footprint while improving project profitability.
Our commitment
Every tonne of CO₂ removed from the atmosphere helps limit global warming and create new economic opportunities for our partners.
In addition, we place technological innovation and collaboration at the heart of our strategy to achieve carbon neutrality.
Since 2021:

10 employees
Including 8 engineers or candidates for the engineering profession (CEP).

50 tons

Encouraging the next generation and academic innovation
We support 3 major projects of university design, mobilizing the active participation of around twenty students.
CapCarbone
CapCarbone is a team of robotics and mechanical engineering students. Passionate about sustainable development and automation, the team is working on the motorization of a test device used for data collection. It is a large-scale machine that contains multiple actuators as well as an array of sensors. The results of their work will be presented at the MégaGÉNIALE 2025 exhibition.

Captive CO2
The project was carried out in collaboration with the company
Skyrenu. This Sherbrooke-based company aims to
reduce the environmental impacts of
developing technologies enabling the capture of
this gas directly into. Our mandate is to manufacture
a test bench to determine the long-term effects
in terms of carbon dioxide capture on the
different absorbent materials used in their system.
