Press Release

Sherbrooke (Quebec), Canada – April 8, 2025 – Skyrenu Technologies Inc., a Sherbrooke-based company specializing in carbon capture technologies, announces the installation and commissioning of its first direct air capture (DAC) system with a capacity of 50 tonnes of CO2 per year at the Deep Sky Alpha site in Innisfail, Alberta, Canada. This system installation, with full commissioning scheduled for later this year, represents a major milestone in the development and implementation of Canadian technology solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

This first delivery of Skyrenu to Deep Sky is part of a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating the deployment of large-scale carbon capture solutions in Canada. This DAC system will demonstrate the performance and viability of this technology in a real-world industrial environment.

“We are delighted to reach this milestone with Deep Sky and realize our vision of affordable yet high-performance carbon capture,” said Gabriel Vézina, co-founder and CEO of Skyrenu. “This first delivery illustrates both the potential of our technology and the dynamism and expertise of our team. We are particularly proud that this project, completed on budget and on schedule, has enabled the installation and commissioning of the very first operational DAC system at the Deep Sky Alpha site.”

Installation of the DAC system with a capacity of 50 tCO2/year will validate performance and pave the way for wider adoption of direct air capture solutions. Skyrenu and Deep Sky will continue to collaborate to maximize the impact of this technology and accelerate the decarbonization of our economy.
